You know him, you love him, he recently had his own movie launched starring the comedy legend Jim Carry, it’s none other than “Sonic The Hedgehog”. The game we would like to particularly talk about today is Sonic the Hedgehog 2; an all-time favorite and a classical masterpiece. Also, this was the first game in which Sonic showed up with his sidekick Tails.
History:
The long runs with rings and at super high speeds brings back a lot of memories and nostalgia. Packed with various levels, weird enemies, hazards, and contraptions of Doctor Eggman, the game became a sensational hit in a short amount of time.
The game was launched in 1992 and was developed by Sega for their gaming console, Sega Genesis. It was an 8-bit game that seemed much more than that for its time. It was a sequel to one of the bestselling games of all times, Sonic the Hedgehog, where the adventure continued for collecting the Chaos Emeralds and preventing Doctor Eggman from getting his hands on them to power his Death Star-like space station.
Features:
As previously mentioned, this was the first Sonic game to have introduced Tails and became the first double-player Sonic game. Retro gamers, to date, describe its gameplay as fast-paced amazing pseudo-3D graphics and better levels than many other games of its time.
The game sold a staggering six million copies, making it one of the bestselling games for Sega Genesis, second only to its predecessor.
All in all, an amazing game with fun gameplay that brings back a lot of good memories.
